At the invitation of the Kobe Institute for Atmospheric Studies (KOIAS), katrinem and I spent six weeks in Japan, focusing primarily on the Kobe metropolitan area. During our stay, we conducted artistic studies centered on the auditory qualities of places and the concept of „thinking with our ears.“
In collaboration with Mao Matsuyama from KOIAS, we hosted three workshops, exploring these themes in depth. Our work and findings culminated in a symposium held at the end of our visit, where we shared the results of our research and creative explorations.
Now, we will analyze the material we gathered and we will develop a concept for a publication and exhibition that will present and reflect on this research.
