The performative sound installation artistically explores the aural qualities of Berlin: the voices, signal languages, pulses, rhythms and timbres that sonically characterize everyday life in the city. For the sound installation, sounds from various urban districts (Kiez) are streamed in real time to the Aufbau Haus commercial courtyard, where they are placed spatially on site.
Four MobileMics developed by Udo Noll are on the move, following a composed location and schedule, listening to Berlin. They send original sounds from the various locations to the courtyard of the Aufbau Haus. There, this sound material is repeatedly rearranged using mobile loudspeakers.
